How does your voice sound to listeners?
Your voice is the whole product on a podcast or a stream. Record 20 seconds and see how it scores for resonance, smoothness, tone, melody and vocal fry, then practice the parts that lag.
One voice rating is free every 30 days. For adults 18 and older.
Score, practice, rescore
- Read a short passage aloud for 20 seconds. You get a 1 to 10 voice score and a score for each part of your voice.
- SMVrater picks the parts that hold your score back and builds a seven-day plan of short drills, about six minutes a day.
- Record again. A before-and-after card shows how far your score moved, and you can share it.
Useful before you hit record
- Flat delivery shows up as a low melody score. The drills train pitch movement on the words that matter.
- A sharp or muffled tone score often points to microphone distance and room, which the plan covers first.
- Fry at the ends of sentences is a breath habit. The plan has three drills for it.
Questions
Should I record with my podcast microphone?
Use whatever you normally record with, in the room you normally use, so the score reflects what listeners hear. Keep the same setup when you rescore.
Does it judge what I say?
No. It measures sound only. No speech content is read.
What does it cost?
One voice rating is free every 30 days. Five more ratings cost US$3.99 one time, and Plus is US$5.99 a month for up to 30 ratings.
Your recording is not kept
The recording is measured on our own server and deleted as soon as the score is computed. No person listens to it. Only the score numbers are saved, for your progress chart. The score is an automated measurement of how your voice sounds, not a judgment of you, and the drills are ordinary voice practice, not speech therapy or medical advice.
